Coombs & Co. [OPEN]

Working multiple jobs is rather difficult, but nothing that Riley isn't used to. Since inheriting Knights of the Round Pie and beginning the renovations to transform the place into a museum, Riley's miraculously also kept up with her job at Coombs & Co. She credits Lily Middleton almost completely for being able to balance the two, since the sharp business woman/socialite has taken a recent interest in managing the museum project (probably due to the fact Lily is currently not speaking to her son and looking for something to work on to pass her days). 

 

And with Valentine's Day around the corner, every February, Coombs & Co. announces some of the biggest discounts of the year on their merchandise. On top of their regular potions and remedies, they offer cute, fun, and safe magical items revolving around love and friendship specially made for the holiday. For the past week, Riley has worked late in the evenings preparing these items and organizing the shelves. She even decorated the shop's front window to draw customers in. Really, she's gone a tad overboard, but Valentine's Day is a fun holiday and there's a bit of a humbug sister at home harshing Riley's mellow.

 

After lunch, she flips the closed sign over to open and unlocks the shop's door before taking a seat at the counter where she has packaging supplies laid out. Today, she's the only one in the shop, but Riley doesn't mind. The quiet means she'll get a lot done today. Placing a bar of "love" soap on a sheet of paper, she begins her task of wrapping the products one-by-one, humming a song to herself as she waits for a customer.

"Well, if you didn't discuss anything, a grand present would definitely be too much. But you want to give a little something at least, just to let him know you were thinking about him." She looks around the room, thinking. "What if you did something for him, versus a gift. Like dinner or make him something?"

"Make dinner?"

Aoife stifles a giggle. "You mean, like - a visit to the cinema and be the one paying the popcorn? Or breakfast on bed? That mean I'd have to get close to his b- I don't know, really. Maybe I'll get a small gift basket now and think of something better while I don't have to worry about not having anything."

"Good thinking." She smiles, offering Aoife the wrapped gift for Amelie. "Chances are, he'd just like to spend some time with you and will love any gift you get him."

[aoife_coombs]

"I don't know about that. Usually I'd agree with you, because men work hard enough to get close to me, but he - Is -"

There was no need to get personal with the shop employee. "Can you make it an ocean inspired gift basket? No food, maybe bath and body stuff. To be a little bit cheeky. And add a little card as well, so I can leave a message."

"Sure thing." Grabbing the items from under the counter, Riley works on packing everything nicely into a basket. She adds a few bath items and lotions before finishing it up and adds a blank card to the basket. "Anything else for you, Aoife?"

She purses her lips. "I think that's a quite complete basket, don't you agree? You can put both of them on the family account and I'll get out of your hair."
